Thanks for all your help. I'm pretty devastated especially with Speckle as she/he is my favourite and so friendly. At least if push comes to shove they have the option to go back to the smallholding where we got them which is a pretty nice place. But it breaks my heart!

Hi all, we need help! This morning one of the chickens started crowing but we don't know which one. It *could* also be one of our neighbours but their chickens are only about 3 months old. Ours are about 5 months now and we have narrowed it down to these 2 of our four..Could anyone help identify...

We were told they were 4 months but there is a good possibility they are younger. Age is just a number :)

Awesome, thank you! We got them last weekend and were told they were 4 months old...could be younger? They are growing in front of our eyes though! The pics were literally taken a few days apart as we have only had them for 6 days but have gotten so attached to them. They are settling in so well...

Hi again....I managed to get some more pics...one of just her "Speckle" and the one with Speckle and the other chicks...which I am hoping are also girls :) So...the bottom line question is...boy or is it a girl? :)

I was worried the brown one looked more like a cockerel, but I'll try to get some more side pics without the wire.

We have just adopted four chickens and are really hoping for hens. Please help!? The brown one seems to have longish feathers on her saddle and the grey one doesn't? Or are they both girls? They are about 4 months old now...They are Boschveld chickens.
