Hello,
My drake (kermit) is about a year and a half old and has developed a cough and wheezy breathing over the past few days. I have put dewormer (flubenvet) in their food to rule out any parasites but 3 days into the treatment and It is only getting worse. He is acting perfectly fine...
Hi,
One of my geese are very lethargic and isn’t eating (she is drinking). I have given her some tonic to aid digestion but she hasn’t eaten in 24-48 hours. Should I put some food in her beak?
I also saw she had lime green clear poop which I know is a sign of a digestive issue.
thank you x
Hello,
Today I noticed that one of my geese had separated herself off from the rest and was acting very lethargic, standing in one place staring at a single spot. I havnt seen her eat anything or poop but she has been drinking. She’s been picking up little bits of gravel but then she...
hello,
I have a flock of one drake, two females and 3 geese. I have recently acquired a new duckling (1 month old I think and nearly fully feathered). My drake is aggressive towards me when I go into the garden, leaving large bruises on my arms. Due to his behaviour I have not been able...
Hello,
My 4month old male duck, Kermit, isn’t feeling too great. Every time he tried to poo only water comes out and his penis fully comes out as well. He can retract it back in afterwards but it’s obviously painful for him and he isn’t eating, just drinking excessively. The tip of his...
i went outside to check on my ducklings, they are about 2 weeks old. I found one sitting hunched in the water dish. I think it might have hypothermia. I brought it inside right away and Dried it with a hairdryer, it’s breathing is a bit raspy and it’s shivering. He is peeping for his friends so...
Hi, no matter how many times I hatch duck eggs I can never tell when they internally pip. I don’t know wether the pictures I have added bellow are an internal pip or just the duckling pressing on the membrane (the eggs are only on day 23 and still look like they have room to grow)
Thanks x
hello,
I have three magpie and three Cayuga ducks. Do they need there wings clipping? The are totally free range and are only put in a house at night. I have had ducks totally disappear from my garden before without a trace (probably a fox or bird of prey) so I don’t know if they can fly...
hi,
These are my geese eggs on day 5 (almost 6). I have never hatched geese before, only ducks. Do you think they are fertile ? I don’t see anything apart from a dark yoke.
Thank you x
hello,
I have 3 goose eggs in the incubator on day 4 and I can’t tell if they are fertile. I know you are supposed to wait a week or so but I have always been able to tell if my duck eggs are fertile early. I am probably just worrying myself as it is a new incubator and I don’t know if...
Hi,
I live in Kent, England and have 6 ducks. I am hoping to get some ducklings and hatching eggs from them to sell? Do they need vaccinations? If so, what age do they need them and what ones do they need?
Thanks x
i am going to start 3 goose eggs incubating tonight. It will be my first time although m I hatch lots of duck eggs, is there anything different from hatching duck eggs? Is there any advise to ensure a good hatch ?
Thanks x
looking for places that can sex week old ducklings in Kent. I did contact a local breeder but he has continually let me down and not turned up. Do vets sex ducklings? Thanks x
I have 8 two day old Cayuga ducklings and they are all very friendly and cuddly. Apart from one, a duckling called kiwi. For some reason he hates humans and ducks, he will do anything to get away from you and shall peep until he is put in the run again. Why is this? Nothing has happened to him...
just hatched some ducklings, some are pure Cayuga some are cross Appleyard. Does anyone have any Cayuga/Appleyard cross adult ducks? Would love to know what they shall look like!
Thanks
Day 24 the eggs internally piped.
Day 25 the eggs externally piped.
Day 26 (today) they just made tonnes of noise :D
I had to open the incubator for a second to top up water as the humidity had dropped tonnes and I’m worried that I might have shrink wrapped them. I have had this happen before...
hello,
My duck eggs are on day 23 (nearly 24) and one of them has internally piped. The only issue is that the eggs have small air cells (like day 10-15 size) I don’t want it to run out of air. What should I do? The egg is upright at the moment.
Thanks x
hi, I posted on here yesterday because the air cells of my duck eggs were still tiny at day 22. It’s day 23 now and I have had a dry incubator and have taken the eggs out and misted them twice a day to hopefully draw moisture out of the shell.
My question today is if the air cells don’t get big...
hello,
I have got 10 eggs in the incubator at the moment on day 22. The air cells are still small on 8 of them, the other two were older eggs and have a good size air cell. I removed the water from the incubate about 3 days ago and hoped to see the air cells grow more, they haven’t really...
