Unsure about the cause of "notches" missing from tail feathers...

This is their space right now. Working on building their permanent day run. The red and white "barn" is their night time coop/run and the new wood structure is their day run with a moveable fence portion that I move around every other day. At night they're in the red/white portion which has 1/4...

Unsure about the cause of "notches" missing from tail feathers...

I thought mice as well maybe! Put mint and other repellent herbs in the coop and around the night run as well once this started. Having their feed hanging helps keep the food waste on the ground to a minimum plus pulling it each night too.

Unsure about the cause of "notches" missing from tail feathers...

They have access to unlimited amounts of Purina Start & Grow. The only time they don't have it is between 7:30PM and 6:30AM. I pull it out of their area at night and put it back out in the morning. They also have access to grass and bugs when their run is open during the day and variety of...

Unsure about the cause of "notches" missing from tail feathers...

I do have two roosters, however, they're only 6 weeks old and haven't started acting "roostery" quite yet. I do have a home for one if they start getting into scuffles. But hoping they will figure out their pecking order and I can keep both. The potential that they have Quill Mites is what I'm...

Unsure about the cause of "notches" missing from tail feathers...

Bright side #1 being I have Tractor Supply Co right in town and they have the Ivermectin Pour-On in stock. Bright side #2 for the most part all my birds try and jump into my lap upon entering their area so applying it shouldn't be too bad. Sad that their first REAL feathers are going to carry...

Unsure about the cause of "notches" missing from tail feathers...

These are from today. Two more birds showing the same patterns. So 5 out of 11 birds. Seeming to be worse today than before. Not just notches missing now. But definitely clean cuts off of tail feathers. I have not observed any one picking on anyone...no scuffles or anything. If this is one...

Unsure about the cause of "notches" missing from tail feathers...

I thought pecking/pulling from other members of the flock as well but it doesn't really jive. The feathers are totally intact minus these little 1/4 inch portions. Plus the second hen to present with it is my bossy girl and I've not seen anyone ever mess with her. I've got a roof covered...

Unsure about the cause of "notches" missing from tail feathers...

Yesterday I noticed one of my bantam hens had 3 what I would call notches missing from some of her tail feathers. At that point no other birds had anything else like it. Then this morning I noticed one of my roosters and another hen had them as well. Upon further inspection the, whole flock is...

Trying to nail down what these Bantam babes are...help!

I've got 5-week-old bantam's. I know one (not pictured) is a gold sebright but I can't settle on the others for certain. They all looked like chipmunks when they were little little. Got them assorted from TSC. Thoughts?
