    Thanks Meg. Just as soon as I work out how to upload pics I will do a "MY Coop" thing with pics of the girls and their home. I might also do a thread on the Small incubator I made, as it works well (better than most of the cheaper shop bought ones) and costs very little to build.

    They're a bit heath Robinson, but they work. The first one is a monstrosity, bit of a Frankenstein build, but it works really well so I've never dismantled it. The new one is a Styrofoam type, but with temp controller and semi automatic egg turner (push /pull bar to turn all eggs at same time)...

    Good you caught something, but I'd keep that trap set for a while just in case he was an innocent bystander and the real culprit is still at large. do you think it could have got into barn through the small hole?

    Dust bath?

    The cream legbar chicks I have were sawdust bathing after around a week in their brooder box. I've not had others do this before, but guessing they may have used a sand box if it were there for them.
