Ok So my last wellie hatched, this is my only one that does not have a feathered leg so I'm really hoping on keeping this one
boy or girl?
it has the V on the head. but im not sure what to loo for on his back
yeah I had to take them with my playbook, For some reason I was never able to get a good shot from my digital camera with the heat lamp on. but the wellies are all exactly the same
Im having trouble sexing my CMs. They almost all look the same to me. They all have the dot on their heads but they are huge
This pic shows you the huge dot on their head
Boy or girl?

Ok so i'm trying to determine if my eggs are fertile or not. But i have this unignorable craving for deviled eggs :drool i know this is a hopeless question but is there a way to tell when they are boiled
Ok so I had to remove some hens from the community because Mr roo wasn't able to keep up with his daily activities (talk about a lucky rooster Eh?) I had 16 hens to one roo so that explains all the blank eggs ive been seeing in my frying pan... I took out all the ones that laid eggs that were...
I have a cuckoo maran roo with 4 cuckoo maran hens and 5 Delaware hens, 5 red hens and a leghorn hen
I'm pretty sure He likes his marans hens best because those eggs are all good
I get that he probably has too many hens to keep up but I still find it odd that only my smaller eggs are fertile...
is there a reason why all my large eggs aren't fertile but all my smallish eggs are?
if I crack open the small eggs you can see it clear as day, but the large ones hardly have a speck in it
im sure kellogs dosen't know who lays the big ones
I had a blonde moment the other day when I set my eggs out before putting them in the incubator
in my 1st coop I have marans hens and maran rooster and Delaware hens,
and in my 2nd I have welsummers with a welsummer rooster and some mutt hens
For some reason when I picked all those large...
im pretty sure it has to be 100, but Im only getting 90...is it because im using an auto turner? or does it take awhile for the eggs to warm up?? I dont get it.
last time around everything was perfect
is the temperature supposed to be 90 or 100?
I am running the hovabator genesis 1588. Should I get a hygrometer or would I be ok to just trust it to work?
My silky went broody. I never got to try out my new egg turner and I only got to use my incubator once so you know what they say, Can't waste a broody hen
I just need a few days to get enough of my wellie eggs
wohoo
how do you deal with chicken cold? my roo has got a terribly runny nose. his whole body gets wet from him sticking his head under his wing and and getting it all over himself. i decided to try some electrolites, he seems much more active now but will this actually get rid of the cold?
