I've never had that problem. Don't understand it.
Meat birds in the brooders. Turkeys running the yard, they are fun to watch.

We use the cone method over a wheelbarrow. The wheelbarrow has sawdust in it to absorb everything. We add the offal to it also. Then more sawdust. Everything goes to compost covered in new grass clippings.

Our next order is due on the 22nd, will be ready for Halloween.
Put them in a killing cone (old traffic cone) hang it over a collection tub (wheelbarrow) and slice with knife. Walk away. Finish scalding, plucking or cleaning the one before. Come back and repeat. No sound, no flapping, no mess.

Glad you found your boy. The same thing happened to me a couple of weeks ago. Stay safe in the storm tomorrow. I get the day off! We could use the rain, just not all at once.
It is just part of the chore of raising meat birds. Don't think about, just get started with the processing. Worry more about the cleaning and doing a good job of that.
