    Not counting your chickens before they hatch can be very bad!

    I too was "just" going to get 6...then 8...then 12, NO MORE!!! Well, now I'm up to 42 and am getting almost a dozen eggs a day with about 20+ of the pullets getting ready to lay in the next couple of weeks:P I LIKE CHICKEN MATH!!!!!!!!!!

    Question about feeding hens mixed nuts...

    This might sound weird, but I was wondering if I feed my hens some mixed nuts would I need to warn my cousin when I give her eggs...she has an allergy to Brazil nuts??? I didn't know if any of the "nuttiness" would end up in the egg or not

    3 wk old chick with no feathers...

    Thanks everyone for your input. This is my first time having chickens (did A LOT of research though, lol) and just thought it was strange. I was afraid that "it" might be a roo since it's taking so long to get feathers. I already have two that I know for sure are roos and don't need another...

    I have a 3 wk old chick (I think it is a bantam EE, hard to tell because it is "chipmunk" coloring) anyway, it does not have ANY feathers, still covered in down. The other chicks that are the same age all have a lot of feathers, a couple are almost completely feathered. Should I be worried...

    Love it...just one teeny problem that is easy to remedy...needs MORE chickens With so much room you could have a BUNCH more!!!!!!
