    Duck duck go has security features in it that are a little hidden. I ended up turning it off because it didn't play nice with BYC, or actually I couldn't fine tune it.:oops: It's still my search engine, I just don't use the whole add on.

    @CastleCoop @MysteryChicken It looks like you've hatched double yolkers before. Could this have been one? YouTube has double hatches and duds, but I havent found any egtopsies or single hatch plus yolk. Did you candle the egg?

    They'll most likely be more interested in munching healthy herbs than digging, but an open field leaves them vulnerable. If you have lawn furniture or equipment that can be left in the field, they'll probably munch away near it.

    Some foods are high in niacin. Liver. Tuna. Sesame seed. Red peppers. Make sure they have grit if you give foods like that.

    Grocery chickens live a miserable life. Homegrown live well, with a quick merciful end. Grieve, but don't feel too guilty.

    Some people prefer to slaughter away from those left. I know I do. Others are comfortable doing it within sight. Do what works.

    Assuming they have grit available, apple might add interest. You're likely a little blue from the loss as well, so remember to enjoy your chickens when you treat them!
