I do plan on eating them, I do not plan on throwing the carcasses away. I just don't think that's the right thing to do they were good girls, lots of good eggs and they will be used in death also I just have a really hard time with doing it myself but then like you said if I'd have somebody else...
I'm so sorry you have no more mangoes I don't remember the last time I actually ate a mango by itself but I use them in recipes all the time weird. welcome 🥰
I have never used one of those I always just use heat lamps but I have been thinking of getting a plate to brew new chicks. I know with the heat lamp you start out with the light very low so it keeps everybody warm and toasty and then you slowly lift it a few inches at a time as they get bigger...
Hello All,
I live in city limits so I have no roo's and only four hens. My conundrum is this, three of my hens are 5 years old the last is 4 years old. Only one of the hens is laying eggs, a 5 yr old and she has meat spots in like every other egg, no lie, no exaggeration there. So now that...
Yes I know they're not great layers but I got them because I live in Michigan and it's super cold and I thought you know never again because they did not lay well at all even in the beginning lol but I love my girls that being said
Thank you very much for your reply and I totally agree with you and that is why I am looking into how to call them they were good layers the first two years and after that they have just tapered off and I know it is not due to feed as they've had the same food throughout their life. I will check...
Hi All,
I have three cochins that are 5 years old and a dark Brahma that is fou. Where I live in the city, there is a code and I'm only allowed five chickens total and I'm down to four right now. My problem is that my girls are not laying eggs any longer they never did lay eggs in the winter...
So I had 2 chickens go broody so I bought fertilized eggs and placed 4 under each hen at night. The next morning one hen was off the eggs not broody any longer and the eggs were scattered. So I took the eggs and put them under the other hen. To make a long story short 2 more hens went...
So my female hatched 2 eggs about a week and a half ago. Everything has been great until this morning. The dad is trying to kill his ducklings. Why do drake's do this and how can I stop it other than locking him up? TA
Hi All,
I have hens only and one has gone broody. Since there are no roos the eggs are all unfertilized. So my question is how to get her unbroody?
TIA
I have a year and a half old female anaconda duck that has stopped laying eggs. She has been laying for about a year. She is eating well and free ranges when there is no snow. Wondering what could have caused her to stop laying since we are on to spring.
Thank you All. I appreciate your input. Lol I haven't forgotten about predators. I think at this point I will still only free-range with supervision. Thanks again!
Hi All,
It has been years since I have been a chick mom. I am wondering at what age I can put my chicks in the coop and let them free range all alone.
Also I have an Ancona duck (female) and a Pekin (male). The female could care less about the chicks but the Pekin hates them. He tries to...
