Well I didn't expect this.
One of my newly acquired Cochin mix bantam hens, Mipha, was just having a crowing match with my younglings.
She's also spurred.
I have no problem with it whatsoever. She can sing right along with the choir. It's very interesting though.
Come December I am going to get myself Disney + and watch the entire Star Wars saga from start to finish.
I have watched most of them, but completely out of order. I'm not at all a Disney fan. I will only be watching Star Wars.
Now I'm getting kinda hyped and I feel like chatting about it. Who...
So I recently adopted three bantams. They have what I suspect to be scaly leg mites. I was treating the youngest just now, and she pooped. And now I have worms to deal with as well.
Lighting is bad, but there were definitely big, live worms. They are all very skinny and underweight, so I'm not...
I'm pretty sure I already know the answer to this...
I have a few too many males...as usual.
I have just found the only females online that I can get. Three of them.
The problem is...they're bantams.
I only have LF - Buff Orpington and Wyandotte cockerels.
Would it be okay for them to be...
So I don't fill up other threads with my peach-themed nonsense.
Feel free to chat about Orpingtons or canned peaches. No other topics allowed.
*Mentioning of bantam Co**ins STRICTLY PROHIBITED*
I've just brought one of my roosters in because his voice had gone.
He's definitely not acting himself.
He is holding his beak partially open, swallowing a lot, and I can see his neck moving when he breathes or swallows, quite noticeably.
He managed a pretty good crow while I was putting the...
Four year old Pepper...curious to know what breeds could be in her.
Comb is like a rose comb. Shanks are clean; slate, skin colour is yellow. Pretty small bird, was black and white as a chick. Her eyes are brown.
Originally thought she was a Jersey Giant, but of course comb is wrong.
She's a...
Anyone ever showed Orps?
Now, while I'm not ever thinking about showing my birds, I'm interested to know what would be the disqualifications, and what to look for when I try and get some more.
Here is one of my roosters. How tubby, on a scale of 1-10 is he? I feel like he doesn't quite reach...
Got this chicken.
At least I think it's a chicken.
Breed and gender please.
Idk the age.
*Please don't try any of the unscientific things that have been mentioned.*
Why Orpington are better than Pekins.
@TheOddOneOut
@Overo Mare! @Overo Mare!
Adjectives such as 'evil' and other anti-Orpington phrases will not be allowed, and will result in all your flock members losing leg fluff.
@TheOddOneOut you have been warned. I don't want to hear that Orpington...
I have a three year old border collie/Labrador cross.
Well I've taught her some tricks, but I'm really wondering if there are any cool dog trick ideas out there.
I don't want the 'sit', 'lie', 'stay'.
I'm talking about teaching your dog to do something unusual or fun. What tricks has everyone...
We're new to this. A bee-crazy friend gave us a hive of bees in our garden. Now the wasps are attacking the bees. Now I kind of expected this, but it doesn't make me worry any less. Our friend told us to feed them, so we did. But I'm wondering if anyone else can give us any more tips.
There are...
So I was invited to a zoom quiz. And like the chicken freak I am, obviously I'm going to do chicken questions. So where else would I go for ideas but BYC?
Any ideas would be welcomed. Remember these questions are intended for people that don't know much about chickens.
What I have so far...
@GC-Raptor
So I've been buying the same brand of chicken feed for some years now. (Corby Rock Mill, layers)
Where I live it's difficult to get growers & chick starter. My dad bought some from England for me.
I hadn't bothered to check the packets. Today I saw all the bags together and went to...
Really need some answers here.
Got 3 chicks with blood in their droppings, and the Coccidiosis medication hasn't helped. They've had this for at least 3-4 weeks now.
All three are acting normal.
I am not feeding red food. It is not shed lining.
Since coccidiosis seems to be a quickly fatal...
My three 7 week olds still have blood in their droppings. Two separate weeks of coxoid has done nothing.
Wondering if it could be something else?
All other Coccidiosis cases I've seen so far have been different. The birds have gone downhill rapidly, and by the time the owners know they have it...
