Just wanted to post a huge Thank you to Opa, Tobin , missjenny, cruizer1, sillychicken, woodmort, suzieq53511, Hbuehler and many more who have been a tremendous help to me. I gave my chickens to my nice neighbors down the street and my son will get my coop...after I clean it out of course. I...

Thanks, I love my coop too! I wouldn't have it if it weren't for Jim Musson, the great guy who built it for me. If Burton is eating and drinking I don't think you should have to put her down. They seem to be pretty hardy and heal quickly, but I feel bad for her being all alone...
Hello Chickmate, I love your coop. It is really nice. Mine is an ongoing process as my husband is not really into helping me... he thinks I should just get rid of them and give the coop to my son for a storage shed... Actually when all this happened yesterday, It crossed my mind as well but...
Here is Burton with my makeshift wound dressing...I have some better stuff to put on tonight. the self sticking wrap might be better. and some neosporin too.
A bad thing happened last night... went out to feed and water the chickens and found one had a large wound in her back. I separated the birds, and dressed the wound... she is eating and drinking ...also posted on the illness board and got some real good advice. I have a man coming to pick up...
Thank you... do you think the local tractor supply will have it... that is where I get my feed from... Thank goodness I didn't listen to my sister iin law... she told me to put all the chickens in the coop and keep the rooster outside... Burton would of been dead by morning!! I was so mad at...
Thank you all so much for the advice. I have just the one Rooster for 8 hens, I used to have 9 but the other one died. Just stopped eating. I am new at this and thought (stupid me) that she was sitting on an egg. After some one told me they are just a year old and too young to do that I took...
I feed my chickens a schmorgesborg of different foods... fruit, lettuce, meat, poultry feed, cracked corn, oystershells and grit. I feed them once a day and change the water. Am I feeding them the wrong things???
I noticed the other day that Burton (black hen) had a few feathers missing, I thought that maybe they had been fighting so I didn't do anything... yesterday while feeding the chickens I was leaving and noticed that Burton had a huge hole in her. I am very upset. I have had Burton since last...
Thank you for all the suggestions... She thinks they finally got it out. They did ammonia, a cage, loud music, and some other things... The reason they didn't know is that their attic is so far up that the only time they heard it was if the raccoon was above the baby's room.. They haven't...
Does Canada have such a thing as a animal control unit that could help them? I haven't talked to her for a few days... I have suggested she contact her insurance and or the aniimal control of their area.... I hope they have done so. it is worth a try. such a mess... they are financially...
I really want to thank all of you for your suggestions:hugs I will convey all of these to her. I think my son in law is putting out a trap or two and taking them far away (that is what he said)... They live in Canada so I think there is a law that they cannot kill them.. they will have to call...
