I shouldn't have been so broad in my statement about the south. There are parts that are nice, we have family in VA and TN, they all do wel and seem to like it. But they are also in the city or suburbs. The south just is not for me.

We were out at 6 am. Most of them were around fallen rotting logs. I remember as a kid finding some under logs as well. These guys were just hanging out in plain sight. Oooh you'll get some nice intense blue eggs!

Three hatched from this weekend! About how long might the broody accept more chicks if I wanted to add a few?

Well after a roller coaster of a weekend, Ollie hatched out 4 babies out of 14 eggs. One drowned in a water dish (totally my fault for leaving it in there ) I water candled the remaining eggs at 23 days and had no movement so I cracked them open to see what happened. Out of the 14 only 7 started...
