I can move the brooder into the coop. It's a wired dog crate so they will have protection. I was considering doing that, but wasn't sure if I needed to. I think I'll be doing that today. Thanks for the confirmation :)

I would like to collect some eggs for incubation/hatching. How long is the max time I can collect before setting them? I know I need to store them in a carton large end up.... is that right? And no refridgeration, right?

I say help it hatch, s-l-o-w-l-y. take a bit of the shell off and see if it can break through the membrane. If not, just make a small slit (it doesn't take much really) and see it that helps. I helped two of mine 2 wks ago, my first time hatching, and they are thriving. They would have died...

I'm not an expert by far, but I would say the mister is a very good idea. You can also give them some frozen fruits or veggies to pick at, and they will love watermelon, any melon really, or cucumber skins, etc... will help to cool them. I would think they will know to go inside in case of...

personally I think Robin and Misty look like Silver Laced Wyandotts. My Wyandotts looked like that when they were chicks. I could be wrong, but that's what I'm seeing.

Yes, I brought it inside. No, I don't have an incubator, but it was under a heat lamp. It hatched out just fine and is fluffy, eating, and drinking... oh and peeping. As I said I'm new to this and it was the most logical step in my mind.
