The hens were hybrid not pure stock

some have yellow dots on head. Some have no dot and one looks like its got chip monk stripes like a legbar, i think ,(they are still in incubator at moment)

i assume the eggs from the hens will be olive ?

CCL rooster crossed with Plymouth Barred rock or black rock - Auto sexing or sex link? or no link? And what will the hens look like ?

Day 21 one egg has piped face down on bottom of incubator dried to cardboard. One of the chick has moved it. But its green at pip Will I just leave it?

Day 18 for me too lol ....i never seen movement last time i incubated and no movement this time. Think they are all sleeping lol

i thought about Emu's , but i just do not have the land to do it on. Would have to convert half my garden lol Stupid question can you candle the egg or is it too dark?

Anyone feeding sprouted seeds to there newborn chicks? If so how old do they have to be before you feed them? i have some wheat,oats and black sunflower that is sprouted i feed the adult hens.

i have 12 black copper marans in. (unsure about fertility), split batchs of 6. due 28th jan and 5th feb And 5 legbar that are fertile. Due 20th jan Also have 2 legbar chicks under heat plate. (pebble and cooper lol) Will either hatch more marans or a batch of silver dorkings as soon as there...

i have some black copper maran eggs incubating. They are really dark.

Well , 2 legbar hatched yesterday. Will move them over to the brooder at some point today.
