We researched making our own automatic openers around 10 years ago, at that time the sum of the parts cost more than we could source a ready made unit. We have used the VSBi unit since then and it seems that the technology and components haven't changed much at all, and with the component parts...
Some nice coops there people.
Here's one of our more popular chicken coops sold in the Great Britain, with our wet weather a covered run is preferable ...
I have a solar panel that trickle charges a car battery that powers up a motion sensor to turn on a small light, not a powerful light but enough to startle a would be intruder.

Hi,
If I could some quick thoughts, the nest boxes would be 30 inches from the floor ? This seems to high, most chicken coops tend to have the nest boxes lower to thefloor with the perching set at same height or higher.
Have a look at our chicken coops here for ideas...
I can't wait to see your Chicken Housing too, looks like it's going to be a grand building
Your location could be in England with that lush green vegetation, we do have a lot of rain though !

Just spotted this on the forum, that's a great job you done there on your chicken coop, even getting the colour close to our James Chicken Coop, if you have at look at our Hen Houses at http://www.woodenart.org.uk you will see that a popular colour just lately here in the UK is a soft Sage...
You need a wood baton with waterproof material behind it (we use 5 inch wide plastic used as a damp proof membrane here in GB) then apply a bead of silicone to the plastic and screw to the House above the nest box allowing enough gap to lift the nest box lid.

Most of our customers now request an automatic door opener. We have been using them for 5 years and are generally very reliable. I think they are invaluable for the new age chicken keeper who have a lot of other commitments going on. All of our own Chicken Coops have them fitted as I particulary...
Very nice Meghalu. If I could offer some advice, I would have added or allowed for guttering to catch rain water running off the House roof and into the Run. Then again I'm in Great Britain and you probably get more sunshine.
Well, in Great Britain it's called a 'pent' roof.
As a general rule, the smaller the angle of the roof slope then the more support it will require.

We make ladders for our coops, except for ex-battery hens, the ladders we make from 1 1/2 " square timber with the corners rounded. See the pics on our website for the sort of thing I mean.

Can't advise I'm afraid as bananas are tough to grow here, but ... I love the smell of bananas, let's hope your coop smells good, for a few days at least
