I feel that is a good price as I co-own a meat shop and charge $3.50 a bird and that includes vac. sealed and fresh or frozen when you pick them. We are a state inspected poultry facility and that is our rate if that is helpful.
I guess you will be a plucking fool. They are great though dispite all the extra work and smell. I hope you are ready for all of them, they sure get stinky when you get that many.
A rooster could have done this if his spurs are long and have not been clipped. You will want to seperate her from the others until it is healed or they will quickly become cannibals. Antibiotics are good, you will want to wash the area and keep an eye on it to make sure it is kept clean and...

Between growing to fast for their feathers and the massive amounts of heat that they produce keeping the feathers from growing fast, they do end up looking like funny looking creatures all red and featherless.
Just less work for you in the end thats all, LOL
Good luck with your flock. They are great to raise and eat. In some cases they can be a bit more expensive then going to the grocery store but I would rather spend more and know what went into my birds and how they were treated.
Will they also free range in your yard or just in the pen...
You can use dog nail clippers on her. You may only want to cut a little at a time. Going to far may make her bleed for a few minutes. After clipping you could always use a thick file and get them shorter that way as well.
