Thanks. I hatched four chicks (:jumpy:jumpy:jumpy:jumpy). I had a metal tub in a bathroom, wet face towels around the eggs, a humidifier in the room, and a heat lamp clamped to a 5 ft step ladder. We moved the ladder to adjust the temperature. Somehow that (and lots of prayers) worked. They...

Final count: 4 healthy chicks! They are eating, drinking, and pooping! They are a quiet group; but that is okay.
I cannot thank each of you enough for your words of wisdom, knowledge, and encouragement through this ordeal. It was so comforting to read your posts daily as I learned all I...
After they have all hatched, do I have keep the humidity up? I have one more that might be a chick; but I don’t see movement or hear anything. It is day 23 at least; so I don’t know if it is still alive. How much longer should I keep them in humidity .
:yaMy fourth chick has hatched!! :wee
I may have two more. Should I gently open the eggs with a needle to see there is movement or leave them alone? This is day 23 for sure.
Congratulations!!! We cull ours out as needed; but I love on them anyway. “It is better have loved and lost than to never have loved at all.” Lord Alfred Tennyson;)
It did! I now have three. I have three more for sure that I am waiting and two that I fairly sure are no good. But I won’t mess with any of them for now.
Thanks.
