could it be coccidiosis or ulcerative enteritis?
the first quail i lost had white poop-- i just didnt know what it meant. now there are no white poopers but the rest of the symptoms are similar to the one who died.
sadly, when i got out, the sickest one from yesterday was dead. i took pictures of its body and the other sick one. i quarintined the wrong birds last night and left a sick one with the main flock! i think it is spreading as well; today there are more less lively birds.

i have some quail who seem pretty sick. their symptoms are being drowsy and puffed up, not gaining weight, and walking very slowly. they eat and drink normally and both are male. when i let them out of their coop this morning, one of the sick quail was sleeping with its beak tucked into its body...
yeah, thats what i figured. im aware these things happen, so i usually dont name my quail until they are 8 weeks or so, but i named her on accident. this makes me super hesitant to cull, along with the fact she seems a little better this morning. if she gets any worse, though, i'll seriously...
ive never heard of putting electrolytes in [healthy] chicks' water, although now i wish i did! no, i havent been doing that. all my other chicks seem normal though.
I have a little quail chick whos about 4 weeks old and it hasnt gotten any heavier than it was at 2 weeks. all my other quail chicks have grown (rapidly), but this little one is still very light.
her appetite has been normal, she drinks and jumps/flies well; she just hasnt been gaining any...
the brooder is pretty small, but it's temperory.
i try my best to not put my hand over them by sliding it down the corner.
alright, makes sense. i cant get an elevated, eye-level brooder right now, but ill be upgrading to a bigger one soon.
