I do not and I've been waiting for someone to do start acting like the rooster but Chocobo is on the bottom of the pecking order...Can they still take the responsibility of a rooster if their on the bottom of the pecking order? I thought only dominant hens did that.
I have a black silkie hen named Chocobo and for the past few weeks she has been very broody. We know she's a hen because she is our only bantam in with our golden sex-links and we've gotten eggs from her.
Anyway, I went away for the weekend and when I came back she rushed out of the coop, tried...
I was out yesterday so I asked my sister to collect the eggs from our chicken pen. One of our hens got out and she didn't tell anyone so when my parents got home and let the dog out, he attacked her. He's a bull mastiff so he didn't bite her or even break the skin, only pined her to the ground...
