I veiwed the eggs from the top (large end) as I am a carton hatcher from way back. I had the last three hatch this morning and all three zipped counterclockwise. There must be something to it. Hey chick crew where in VA are you ? I'm in Disputanta (Prince George)
Thanks
Brian
Hello All,
I had some Brown Leghorns hatching out yesterday and this morning and I made the observation that all of the eggs that piped and zipped, all zipped in a counterclockwise direction. Anyone know if they all do this ? This is not my first hatch, but I don't recall noticing this on the...

I've got some silver phoenix eggs in the bator now from them (day 8), so I can't yet comment on quality. I will say that they were promply shipped and well packed. The auction was for six, and I received 10 (4 extra's). I candled them yesterday and have 5 developing and 5 that are not. This is...
Kim,
If you could email me pics it would be great. I would love to get a dozen of the silver gray's if you had that many. LMK how much you want for them and I will send a paypal payment.
Thanks,
Brian
I'm going to set up a second LG to use as a hatcher only. Is the fan really needed for the last three days or can I get by without. Would you spend the extra money ?
Thanks,
Brian
Is it possible to stagger your hatch with an auto turner ? How would you do it if it was ? I received eggs today but won't receive the others till Saturday. I've only got 1 bator. Any suggestions ?
Thanks,
Brian
I've had great hatch rates so far in my LG but must admit you really have to keep an eye on them. I'm thinking of ordering a 1588 as well. Does anyone know if the LG auto turner will work / fit into the 1588 ?
Thanks,
Brian
This is my first time dealing with eggs thru the mail. Is there anything special that needs to be done before putting them in the bator ?
Thanks,
Brian
I would do a visual test first to see if any are seeping or discolored, then do a smell test to see which one (s) are smelling and discard them. No reason to throw them all out if only a few are bad.

It's been three weeks since I hatched out 37 chicks. I now find myself with about 19 roosters. What in the world do you all do with all of the extra roo's ?
Thanks,
Brian
