    does anyone else use their 13 pound dogs to herd their flock into coop

    I ask because I use my 3 dachshunds to herd the flock back in the coop in the evening after letting them free range in the yard. They work the chickens great.They don't even nip at them and cut out the turkeys and geese like border collies. It only took three months to train them.

    When I hatch the chicks never have problems with illness. But when I order from a hatchery were they are immunized.They get sick easy can anyone tell me why.

    Under natural incubation. I let my brood hens sit in September in northeast Florida. We had some early cool snaps.I got 4 hens and one rooster.

    I'm asking because my flock keeps growing selectivly of couse. Even with culling roosters and old hens.

    why do people think your horrible when you say u eat your chickens

    I don't get why people think its wrong to eat what you raise. I told someone that I make stew out of old or problem hens and raise an eat extra roosters. The said the could never eat something they raised and I was a horrible person for killing a innocent animal. Then I asked them if they ate...

    I raised 2 RiRs and a new Hampshire with them and they lay daily also 10 more hens and was getting only 8 eggs a day. Should I increase layer feed or is it because it getting cold early in Florida. They are from last spring
