    Ressurection story

My mom and I have had that happen, too. It is the strangest thing.... ours was full grown, a white leghorn & she seemed to be frozen solid. We brought her in and put her in a box filled with hay and warm towels and by the end of the day she was moving and starting to be more like herself. It...

one of my chickens is pecking the other behind

Hello, today we noticed that one of my chickens is pecking several other ones behinds. All the feathers are gone in about a four inch diameter. We isolated the one that I think is guilty, but I wonder if this has happened to anyone else and how long do I need to isolate her? Why do they do this...

Two chicken escapees made new friends today....

Today, mom and I got home to find two of our ladies in the neighbor's yard. No big deal, except our neighbors have two full grown great danes... Thankfully they are ok & we rescued them. No harm done. We would have been devastated to come home to that disaster!

Update!! So, days after the reply to my post, we got vitamins for our girls & continue to give the vitamins. Our Little Red has since started laying eggs! What is your flock's favorite food?

Our chickens love most everything! The only thing they haven't been crazy about so far is grapes. They are too skeptical about those... They LOVE cat food, melons, rotten bananas (YUM), old bread, and scrambled eggs. It's nice that no food goes to waste now that we have chickens!

One of These Girls is Not Like the Other

... one of these girls doesn't belong In April of this year, we got 6 baby chicks. They have thrived pretty much by the books, except for one that we like to call "Little Red." She stopped growing larger about a month ago, walks differently than the others (head tilted slightly to the left at...
