Last year I never washed my eggs. If they were dirty, I would wipe them with a dry cloth.

We either eat them or give them to friends. On occassion I even get a toonie for a carton!

I have 19 Red Stars - they hatched in May and started laying about a month ago.
Over the past couple of days, I have been finding up to 4 eggs in the middle of the coop not in the nests!
I know the girls are all experienced at laying as I've been getting 19 eggs per day for at least 3 weeks...
Mine really liked the pomegranates I gave them last week. I was amazed to see the tough outer skin cleaned out in just a matter of moments. Had never thought of cranberries. I still have some left over from Thanksgiving (it's in October here in Canada) so I think I will take some out to them...
I have never given the girls anything that has been cooked.
Typically they get apples, green leaves from the trees/wild raspberry canes and whatever veggies/fruit the caffeteria ladies send home with my eldest son.
They LOVE broccoli, melons, tomatoes and cucumber. They will eat carrot peels...
