    I am in love!!

I picked up my two new Muscovies today and oh my I love them already. They are so sweet!! They were very dirty and so I put them in the pool of water and they had so much fun cleaning themselves. They aren't really shy like my other ducks and they let me hold them. They wag their bottoms...

Do these look pure Muscovy to you (with pics)

I have an opportunity to trade two of my runner ducks for these two tomorrow but am not sure if they are pure Muscovy. She said her ducks all free range but the other ducks stay down at the pond and the two Muscovy ducks she has hang up by the house. What do you think? Any guesses on gender?

OMG they are NOT really all toms! Added more photos!

Hi, these four RPs are six month olds and I have been stumped on gender the whole time. I think I have three toms and 1 hen. If correct, two toms need to go. Is it okay to just have a pair instead of a trio? Also if I am correct on the gender, what do I look for when choosing which tom to...

    Crossing Buff with BBS Orpingtons

I have been searching and found some info but was curious if you cross the two of these, what the babies would look like? I have a blue roo and a splash roo. The blue is in with two blue ladies and the splash is in with the egg laying flock. There are some buffs in there so I was wondering...

A question of Royal Palm poults feathers

I picked up 5 of the cutest poults today and noticed some of the them have a little black on the end of their feathers and some of just pure white. The are 6 days old today. I was wondering if this means anything or if they will eventually get all the same feathers.

I am getting some Narragansett hatching eggs......

I have been looking for turkey poults or hatching eggs for a month now locally because the weather is still freezing at night and I was afraid shipping would be hard on them. I have placed ads on Craiglist locally and even up to 200 miles away because we will be making two trips, one for...

Trying to decide which heritage breed to get....

My dh finally agreed to some turkeys and I know I want heritage ones. I am not sure what breed to get and the ones I am interested in are Naragansett, Blue Slate and/or Bourbon Reds. I know I want one that we can eat but also can give me babies next spring. Are all the heritage breeds pretty...

    Normal spring behaviour??

I hatched some eggs this last spring, was suppose to be BBS Orpingtons. I hatched out 7 babies, one didn't make it. Out of the six that did, I have a gorgeous splash rooster, a blue rooster, two blue hens and then these chickens. One is splash colored and one is black. They are both hens but...

    I don't want a poopy mucky pen!

We have 14 ducks right now. The new pen size will be 23 x 50. This is divided into three sections, one for the Welsh Harlequins, one for the Runner Ducks and one for the mixed pen. This is about 75 feet per duck. Is this a big enough size to help with the mud and smell or will it still just...

I wonder if they will hatch!

I have had horrible times lately with hatching. They eggs develop beautifully and die right before pipping. Today is day 26 on runner duck eggs and I have my fingers crossed. I know it is still early but wish something would happen so I know if they going to hatch.
