Need to find a new home for roosters! HELP

I have two Amerucana roosters. One has a leg issue (its bent and has a broken toe) and the other one is fine, but he was debeaked at the hatchery. Anyways, I cannot have crowing roos and they are now starting. I am lucky enough to live near a busy road and I have an airport nearby where the...

    SOMEONE HELP!

Good luck. Don't open the bator at all and make sure you have a decent humidity. I have one egg moving on day 18/19 so I understand where you're at. This is the most stressful time of the whole experience. Happy hatching!

Round Two Egg Moving Day 18

Day 18 is here for my Welsummers and one egg is moving! I thought I was seeing things, but he was just jiggling a bit in his carton! I made sure to poke holes in the bottom, as I didn't do last time. That was the only egg of my Welsummers I could confirm as being fertile, I am not sure about...

Toulouse Goose Hatching Eggs for sale- NY

Quote: Cara, I used to wonder that too until I ordered eggs and realised all the care that goes into carefully wrapping and packing these so that they don't break. $15.00 is not bad as I have seen people pay as much as $25-$50 for shipping depending on the egg count!

    Hey BARNYARD!

Quote: Boy do I know that tune. I had ordered three batches within two weeks and my household wasn't very keen on the idea of hatching chickens. I do it anyways. That's not bad, you should have seen what happened when I surprised everyone in November with a little box from Ideal! Its an...

    Re: Hatch didn't make it

I can truly sympathize with you. I lost an entire hatch of Delawares I bought off of eBay. Out of 14, 7 were not fertile, two were just masses, two died in the shell and my last three in the bator are on day 25/26 and i don't see them doing anything. I agree. I am going to try to get eggs off...

    Ducklings...

Hmm, the white one is most likely a crested pekin. The other's I am not sure, but they kinda look like Rouens to me. The stripe on the eye gives me that indication. They could also be Call ducks. I guess you'll know when they start feathering in about a month.

Goose Eggs Coming Up Need Advice

These came from a guy in AZ. I wish they came from you, that would have been awesome. I have always wanted Toulouse and Embdens so I am on my way with hatching. I also bought some Welsummers from AussieSharon and they are all suppose to hatch a day apart. OOOOOOH I cannot wait. My Delaware...

Incubator Temp - Regulating Sex of Birds

Quote: You don't sound backwoods. Its a water filled plastic "toy" that has a hole in it, almost resembles a water filled water wing. If you place it in the incubator and use a probe thermometer, you can adjust the temp so that the inside reads 99.5. That way you'll know the eggs are getting...

    homemade incubator ?????

Sorry. I saw you no laughing request after I did. Yeah, that'll work but you can't regulate the temp like that. it could be too hot or too cold. I would buy one from TSC or make one yourself. That's the best advice I can give in this case.

OK, so I am hooked... how many Pekin ducks?

This is just my topic. Yes, Ideal will let you order less than 15, but they will send, as one other member called it "peanuts" or a few extra chicks for warmth. They will likely be males, but if you raise the for meat or sell them/give em away, you should be fine. Ducks are messy! I told myself...

    Ducklings...

Post some pics! Sounds like a crested Pekin if she/he has yellow feet and a tuft of down on its head. I have a 1 mo old Pekin Peepers and he/she is in what I call the ugly duckling teenage years. The downs all a mess and scraggly while the feathers come in. But then comes a beautiful white...

My new Goose and the Feed Store's strange customer service

Snuffy is so cute! I thought I noticed something different about her bill, but nonetheless still as precious! I have a few birds with issues and it doesn't bother me. One Amerucana roo as a broken toe and bent leg (chickhood accident) and my goose has the odd wing feather situation. I think its...

    Chirping on Day 18???**UPDATE**

I know the feeling! 60 is not horrible, but 67% is better. The room its in may be a bit dry. I had filled my reservoirs and a cup and still no luck. So I took tissue or paper towels soaked in warm-hot water and stuffed them down the vent till they dropped. I was able to get it perfect by adding...
