To add to what Mike said, I've not noticed that adding tomato to dried beans makes them tough so much as they take hours longer to cook. Same thing I suppose. I seem to recall reading that the Shakers/Quakers/Pilgrims or one of those figured out they could set the beans on before the sabbath...
I thought that by definition "pet" peeve was the ONE thing that annoyed you the most?
There sure are a lot of irritable people on here.
I think that people who have multiple pet peeves is now my pet peeve. This will supplant the words "pet peeve" as my pet peeve.
I'm not sure I followed all that but it doesn't seem like it should make any difference if your shift goes through midnight or noon. When I worked hourly we got paid overtime for anything in excess of eight hours. I can kind of see their point if you come in at 2.00 pm, work 16 hours and then...
Got a cooler full of oysters and I've been shucking a couple dozen at a time all day long as we felt "peckish".
Going to make baked Oysters "Ken" for an appetizer here in a minute and then we are going to cut this bad boy up.
As close to Gen U Wine Muffaletta as you can get without going to...
The ground drive refers to the fact that the wheels turning on the ground are what powers the pto. In other words, if the cart isn't moving the pto isn't turning.
They are very handy things to have. I use mine for cooking, canning, and scalding chickens.

Older birds are tough, you wouldn't want to use them for fried chicken or other quick cooking recipe. However; there isn't any chicken that can't be cooked into submission by a crock pot, pressure cooker, or simply long, slow, stewing in a stock pot. They make delicious soups and...
I would be shocked if you could find it at an online purveyor of exotic food. I've been shocked before though.
I think your best bet is going to be finding a neighbor that hunts them and asking to trade for one. They really are very easy to clean though. If you have some in your yard just...

At our store you can buy parts way cheaper than a whole chicken. Bone in breasts are frequently .99/lb. The last time I bought leg quarters they were .49/lb.
Not only will many not kill and dress a chicken, they won't even cut one up.
If you go to the buy sell section here right...
Pork chops are something I've never gotten the hang of. We mostly eat venison and chicken and when we do buy pork it is generally a shoulder for smoking.
Funny you mention collards, I'm going to have collards with my chicken and dumplings. I'm tempted to make two pots of chicken and dumplings...
