My chicken coop uses two inch wire for run and there are small opens to the door of chicken's bedroom. Last night, I heard my chickens scream. I ran to the coop and find a possum inside the "bedroom". it is about 20% bigger than an adult squirrel. I chased away him. The problem is that with its...
I had three RIRs, all of them about 6 month old. No. 1 and 2 started laying a few weeks ago. about one week ago, one predator somehow got the no. 3 hen out of coop and killed it outside coop (since there was no feather found inside). Now, No. 1 hen still lay egg one a day, but no. 2 has...

I have three RIR. on 05/06, I got my first egg (small, but good). how long usually do I have to wait for the 2nd egg come? I assume my 2nd and 3rd hen should start lay soon (all three of them are about 5.5 month old)?
Thanks.

I just got 4 RIR pullets a week ago. each one is about 1 - 1.5 lb. the seller said they are three month old. I thought they are too small for three month old pullets. Anyone has any ideas?
Thanks
