Looking for 6-hole foam egg shippers

About a year ago I bought some six-egg foam shippers and now I can't seem to find the supplier where I purchased them. I have had GREAT results with these shippers and I am about out of my current supply. Does anybody know a good source for buying these shippers? The particular ones I have...

Did I get a good deal on a Brinsea incubator?

I just bought a Brinsea Octagon 20 Advanced incubator on eBay for $120. I am assuming it is used. Is that a good price? I doesn't come with the turning cradle, so I will have to buy one of those separately. Right now I am using LG styrofoam incubators, so hopefully this will be an upgrade.

UPDATE: Possibly bad feed. HELP! Chicks are 18 days old, slowly dying

See my update on page 5. I think I may have figured out what was causing a lot of the problem. I have chicks that are almost three weeks old that are slowly dying off. They are housed in my basement and I will go down and check on them and everybody seems fine. Then an hour later I go down...

    HELP! Week-old chicks slowly dying

I have raised many chicks in the past and never had a problem like I am having now. I ordered lavender orpington chicks and got them at the same time a group of my own chicks were hatching. The orpingtons arrived a day late and out of 15 birds, 3 had died in shipping. Not an hour after I got...

"Blah" chick - Listless, not very active

I got a group of Lavender Orpingtons from Hodges Farms. They were shipped on Monday and scheduled to arrive on Tuesday, however, did not arrive until Wednesday morning. Three were DOA and one died shortly after I got them settled. The rest seem to be doing fine except for one that is very...

    Hello from Mansfield, Missouri

I am new to the site officially, but have used it MANY, MANY times when I needed help with my chickens. I live in Mansfield, Missouri, which is where Laura Ingalls Wilder lived when she wrote the Little House books. I currently have 17 grown birds (coronation/light sussex roosters...

An odd situation -- Don't chicks get their coloring from the rooster?

I know this is going to sound odd, but I have always been under the impression that chicks get their coloring from the rooster. So, as I understood it, if you had a white rooster and bred it to, say, a red hen, you would have either an all white bird or white with a splash of color. For me in...

    An incubating question

How long should I wait before it's time to give up on eggs hatching. I am in the process of hatching some eggs and a few of them are now 3 days overdue. One of them, however, just cracked its shell, but I don't see any movement. How long do most people wait before disposing of the eggs that...
