    HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so very sorry for your loss! I had a fox kill my couple a few year ago. I always wanted to show my ducks, but they were never quite the right temperament. If the dog dug under your fence you need to dig about 1 foot under the fence and add fencing under the ground, so the dog can't get in...

Help- I have a thin laying duck.

Thanks for the suggestions I didn't think of the vitamins. I usually have her on laying feed because she lays most of the year. But I recently switched because she had a molt for something like six months straight. I have a somewhat picky duck, she dosen't like lettuce, but she loves her green...

    Welsh Harlequin

I love my little girl Apri Showers. She's a Silver. Beware of Metzer Farms Welsh Harlequins! In my experience, I've had 2 of them die on me. One when she first arrive at the house, she had bumble foot also, and the second for unknown reasons, we found her dead one morning. They were all house...

Can someone please help me? I have a beautiful Welsh Harlequin duck and she is laying. About 2 weeks ago I noticd she was losing weight, and now her keel bone is prominant under her feathers. Her egg shells are nice and formed, but a little small for duck size eggs. She has her cracked corn...

    Post your Duck names!

Well, I have had a few ducks before my current girl. There was my mallard coulple Calm (female) and Flyer (male), I was 5 at the time. We were stupid duck owners and believed that hand raised ducks could survive on their own, so we released them. Then I had some Khaki Capmbells Shelia and Rosie...

    Molting problems

@ Amiga -Thank you very much! I do have a good duck vet, but they are pricey. I will put her outside more often, I hadn't thought of a vitamin deficiency. She has plenty of oyster shell, has a ducky corn diet, and lots of green beans, broccoli, and anything else she can get her beak on...

ducks back claw torn off what do I do?

No it's just the claw, and she's an indoor ducky she wears a diaper so my house stays clean. I love to have her watch movies with me! We snuggle and she usually falls asleep next to me. But I did put some troiple antibiotic ointment on it just to keep any infection at bay. Thank you both for...

ducks back claw torn off what do I do?

I have a female welsh Harlequin, and her back left claw just got torn off. Is this natural? She was standing on one leg, and I went to pet her and noticed some blood on the floor I when I touched the claw, it fell off. I stopped the blood and put some triple antibiotic ointment on it. Is there...

    Metzer Farms

I ordered 4 harlequins in July and only 1 survived. Upon arrival one was very sickly, and died 2 hours later. The second was our fault, she was accedently suffocated. The third, died of unknown causes, and the fourth is alive and well. She's the best duck I've had yet!

    Duck quacking funny

My Female Welsh Harlequin isn't quacking much, and when she does quack, she sounds like a squeeky toy. I think she may have eaten something she shouldn't have. She is a house duck and only goes out with supervision. Does anyone know what might be the problem and should I take her to the vet...
