Ive been thinking about you a lot recently. Wish I had some of your eggs. I havent incubated any at all this year... First time in a long time that I havent. Hope all is well.

Hey ladies, thanks for the advice on the chicks.
I don't really have a way of keeping them seperated. No over pen net. The guineas can fly good. I just dont know what to do. Will it "mess" her up if i take them from her. Should i not even consider it. She is only setting on 2.
Oh man :/
Rachel, are you talking about a barred rock roo? That is all I'd ever had and all the roos were aggressive. No thank you on the flogging roos. My Barnies have never showed any kind of aggression. Main reason why I picked Barnevelders, besides they are beautiful. ;-)
I just checked the eggs under my broody hen.
She was setting on 18.
Only 5 were fertile.
3 of tge 5 half air cell on the side :-/.
I gave her 2 eggs that will be harching soon and 2the "duds" just because.
Man thus is tough stuff...
Another problem... I noticed that 1 egg's air sac is on the side. Will this definitely be a problem or could it be ok?
I guess I'm not very trust worthy. I want to go and get them so BAD! What will happen if I put all the eggs with her and they hatch 3-5 days different??
I'm sorry for being...
Hey there guys. Sorry I haven't been on. So busy with work, kids, and all the other things life throws our way.
I have a concern...I have never had broody chickens before the barnevelders. I was gathering eggs to incubate and after 3 rounds of "duds" I finally got 2 out of 60 that are growing...
Happy, thanks so much for the advice. Ive dusted their roost, coop, and favorite dusting areas.
I didnt dust them yet. Hopefully they will dust themselves well.
Brownish in color.
OMG! Now my concern is... lice, as in lice we can catch?
They run around in my yard. What do i need to do about that.
What about the coop/run, also?
Ok my peeps... I noticed some critters crawling around on my chickens feet.
They are big enough to see. Any thoughts.
Would scaley leg mites be too small to see?
What do i need to do?
Someone PMed me and said they heard Johan had been in the hospital. Sorry if this is "old news". I emailed him several weeks ago and he said he and his chickens were resting through the winter and would be selling late March. Hope he is ok.
When do you plan on hatching. We' ve had such a warm winter. I couldn't stand it and put some in on2/23. I'm so excited for spring to come and hear everyones stories about their chicks.
