Just an update......Still not normal but she seemed better last night. She was standing with her head up and made it up the ramp into her coop on her own. I am wondering if it was more of an injury than anything.
all of our chickens get the same water as the ducks....and they lay great
We don't have a local vet per say....just one we call with questions occasionally
'
Like I said I wonder if it could be a strain or something from falling on her face.......Due to her leg problems when she tried to move...
This morning she was out of her house, laying in her pen, still stretched out. We kept them penned up today. Less stress than being by all the chickens.
I will try the apple cider vinegar. My concern is she is not drinking because if she puts her head in liquid she will drown since she can't...
she has never laid any eggs. The other female that we had never did either.
We were told that where we got them from may have bred amongst themselves too often and in turn they may have turned out sterile.....
They "free range" in a fenced in area with the chickens. It is pretty contained with nothing new ever being introduced.
There is a ramp into her pool...but she rarely swims......She normally just hangs out and watches her male swim.
Thanks for the link to the flushes
Hi
I have a 3yr+ female rouen duck. Yesterday she was in obvious distress. She was laying flat out on her stomach with her neck stretched out on the ground. Occasionally she would get up to walk and her neck would almost hang down to the ground, like she could not hold her head up. I...
Ok. I have other ventilation so it will not be really a designed function. And I'm not too worried about bugs since the chickens usually keep the house bug free
Ours had a bad hatch (dead chick) last week but we had some cold nights (40s) and I think that may have had something to do with it....hoping the warmer temps we now having will help more hatches...
Ok. That helps. The baby seems to know where the water and food are. She seems to be exhausted. Is that normal? I mean I know shes just a day old and all.....she really likes her surrogate stuffed bear. I think we are good on the temp and I have a red light over her in the house. We'll see...
I'm almost done with my consolidation coop build. It will end up being 12x8 and 7+ft high. I am siding half of it with free 100yr old barn siding I got off CL. The siding doesn't exactly fit tight and their are some gaps in between. I was thinking of caulking the gaps and maybe siding the...

Bubble Room is awesome...but believe it's actually on Captiva.....just a little pricey, if a weekend go early or be prepared to wait and must order desert!
sanibel is a place more low key to enjoy the beaches and scenery and relax. If you're looking for a party town many other places in...
Been to sanibel a few times. Great place to shell. We like the lighthouse beach. The earlier you go mid week is best but depends on wind, waves, and storms too. We always bring laundry type bags with holes in it to put the shells in. Last time we were there we found sand dollars, starfish...
the raccoons around my place do not even move when lights come on or if yuo shine a flashlight at them. They just stay there looking at you. My chicken run adjoins my goat pen and they don't seem to like the goats much......So there's your solution Get some goats .
