I went out to let everyone out this morning and found 2 more had hatched over night. I also opened up the outside pen so that Momma Fanny could take the others on an adventure around the yard. They were so much fun to watch. Will post pics soon!

Thanks for the advice. I need to move them down closer to the floor. I am afaid of the nest box being so high. I did attatch a board across the bottom so that none of them could accidently fall out. Hope this is okay.

Here is one of my broodys with a baby!

I actually have 2 broodys in the same nesting box. The cochin has taken the rest of the eggs to sit on and this one is raising the chicks! Kinda reminds me of my own mother! She took in foster children but I was the one she adopted!

I have checked out this wonderful site many times and have decided to join. I have a mixture of diffrent chickens and just had (so far) 7 chicks hatched yesterday! Hoping for a few more.
