Thanks Sooner.
I'll move her tomorrow -- I have a huge dog crate I could put her and the babies in -- I'll put hay in the bottom for them.
My chickens are free-range -- so I COULD lock the chickens out during the day and it would just be her and the babies in there. . . but I think I'd...
I have a chicken that is setting and she should be hatching any day. I'm wondering when the babies are born, if I should take the mom and babies and put them in a seperate pen until the chicks are older?
Thanks, I think I'll check it out. I did a search on the forums and found directions (I think).
I'm not looking for anything special. . . just think I'll check it out
Thanks again for giving me the times and dates.
thanks for all your info -- I left the light on all night and no dead ones this morning.
My chicken coop is within another fence -- and it has chicken wire around it, so I was surprised (and sad) to find that one dead . . . I am thinking maybe if I leave the light on at night they will be...
Thats what I was thinking, either a possum or coon, I never knew they would take just the head. Is there anything I can do?
Someone said that the coon might reach through the fence and because the chicken wont fit, it takes just the head?.?. . .
Last night something killed one of our chickens -- only the head was gone and a few feathers. . . whatever it was didnt dig in, so it would have to be somehting that can climb, any ideas?
Hi everyone, Im new here. . . I have 25 chicks that are about 10 weeks old -- (they are an assortement from Orshelen) -- we are so enjoying them. They are so much pets already that when I walk out the door they run over to me, I can hardly walk from tripping over them.
