Thanks for the input, I think I should ask my buddy if he is ready to start putting eggs in his incubator, I have 7 Rhode island reds and 1 leg horn he hatched last spring and they are laying very good and some big eggs, I hope he is ready.
We've had no eggs since mid october, had light come on for a week and a half now from 5:30 am till 8:30pm put half cup of black pepper corn in with pellets this morning and just checked boxes and 2 BIG brown eggs, hopefully they keep coming.
How much or how long should I have light on for my chickens to lay eggs this time of year.
I just hooked up a light on a timer for 2 1/2 hours in the morning and night, a buddy of mine said to have it on all night.
Please let me know what works best for you.
