3/20 (a few of the girls just started laying last week). Looks like one of the EE hen lays olive, one lays a lighter green, and the other hasn't started yet.
So far 3/20. S. Sussex gave a perfect large brown, EE Sage gave her second olive egg, and another S. Sussex gave her 1st, a very small soft shell.
An Australorp and RIR are hanging out in there now, and the RIR has given two for sure so maybe I'll get a few more : )
Read that advice here early on and took it, lol.
As soon as we found the 1st egg on top of the wood shavings bag we put those fake guys in the nesting boxes.
Some of the girls have been in and out of those boxes exhibiting nesting behavior, even moving the fake eggs around and leaving some...
Thanks for the replies : ). I'll assume it's just due to their being new layers, and let them have the woods during this heat wave. If I'm not seeing more eggs by early next week I'll think about locking them into the run for a few days. I can't wait until I can say I got a dozen in a day : )
None today - but my mixed flock is just coming of age and so far we've had 6 eggs over 4 days. One lovely olive egg day efore yesterday.
