My mother said she saw all three of the babies practicing flying today with their parents-- and that the nest is now empty!
It was such a gift to watch them grow up! I'll try to see if I can find them out there, get a picture of them out in the big world to finish this thread off!
It practically looks like they doubled in size overnight. One of them seems to have left, too. I wonder if they’ll still be here tomorrow, or if they’re ready to make lives of their own?
Of course! I’m glad to be able to share this with everyone else too! I hope it cheers you all up as much as it does for me. :)
Here’s todays hungry mouths!
One more picture… that last one is from yesterday.
It just finished raining here (the nest is covered by my house’s roof awning) and I stopped by to check on the babies. Look how sweet!
Update! All three babies have hatched healthy and safe!
Sweet little things cuddling together…
Two of them hatched yesterday, but I want to wait until all of them were hatched to show them off!
After further research, I think they’re Northern mocking birds!
There’s a little nest in my hibiscus...
Look inside and you see......
Babas!!!!!
Saw the momma recently, seems to be a scrub jay nest. Three little eggos! She did a good job!
I’ll be checking on the nest every other day to see if some peeps have hatched.
Once they have, I’ll try to take...
