Looks like a red mixed with something. There is also a color that is being worked on called a buff columbian that it looks like. But those are rare. I bet a breeder of those would be interested in this chicken!
How old are they? I'm leaning toward roos on all of them. That's a lot of red on the comb to be pullets if they are as young as they look. The first two also have spiky crests. I can't see the crest of the third one though.
Sorry I should've clarified. Closer pics of the crest of just the bird on the right. And most recent. Better lighting would help too. It looks like the feathers are really pointy and spiky in some pics and in other's it doesn't.
The one on the left is definitely a boy. Can you get better pics of the crest of the questionable one? Is it bearded? It's hard to tell in those pics. If not, check for wattles. How old are they? (sorry if you already said)
I have pullets that have "droopy" saddle feathers.
That's interesting. I have 2 buffs that I think are roos (they had smaller and different shaped crests, feathering in slower, and stand more erect) but they are very light. They are still young though so who knows. I just sold one to a friend so I'll find out eventually if it is a roo or not...
That's not a polish color that I've seen. It's not silver laced as there's no lacing pattern (a white feather with a black stripe around the edge).
It looks more like a mottled houdan but I don't see 5 toes. The rooster looks like a mixed-breed.
Totally not an expert though!
This was an order of pullets so they "should" be girls. I don't know if you can wing sex polish, if you can it has to be done in the first day or two. Once their feathers start coming in then it doesn't work anymore. I have heard you can sex young polish by the shape of their bump but our order...
I was just looking at the wings of my new polish chicks and need a couple opinions on color...
The chick on the left is one of the buffs. It is easy to see the buff color in her wing feathers in person, not so much in the picture. The one on the right in comparison has white wing feathers with...
