Ahhhh what a cute name! Sorry to hear about your mauve. Currently all Eng. Orps are running together, so I know one of my BBS's got to my Chocolate Orps :-) I'm hatching eggs under broody hens, can't wait to see results. Just something fun, before I separate everybody! lol
Did she look like this when she was born? This is a new baby of mine born to my English Orps, Chocolate Mama and either a BBS or Lav Daddy. I can't wait to see her feathered out! EMPHASIS on "her" hahahaaaa
Have you ever tried the feed Nutrena puts out called "Feather Fixer"? My poor hens get like that too. I mix it with their layer crumble and I also feed them extra scrambled eggs, since feathers are mostly protein, they need all the help they can get! :-) You will see the difference in about...
That should be interesting. All my English Orpingtons are running together at the moment --that's soon going to change since the girls are starting to lay. I've eggs under broody hens and in my bator from them. Could be BBS, blacks, Jubs, Reds, Chocolates. Lavs, Cuckoos, Lav Cuckoos...
Hey I'm trying to post some of my Eng. Choc. Orp Eggs (med. Bantam) for sale, and it says I'm not allowed. Anyone know off hand why? Is it because I'm new?
Thankyou so much for the clarification! :-) I still love mine and they are absolutely adorable. Perhaps their weight wont increase and they will just fill out more. Those fluffy feathers can be so deceiving. lol
Feel free to send some my way. I'll pay shipping teee heee. I have two LF chocolates that are about 4 weeks old from FancyChick and I've some eggs in the bator from Autumn Farms :-)
Well there is 16 oz in a pound. I was off a bit, I just looked in up. The Med. are 3-4 lbs, least the imports that I have. I guess time will tell as they grow up--they do have short backs and are getting fluffy skirts :-) What's something good to weigh them with?
Thanks for the info Dragonlady. I'm pretty certain mine are going to be larger than that, since they are M. Sacre Imports :-) Did you by chance look up Medium Bantams? I guess I could. lol
I have 4 hens/ 1 Roo That are Marc Sacre lines Mediums I hatched. One is in profile pic. They are only about 4 months old, it's my understanding should be about 3.5 - 5 lbs--they are filling out nicely and super cute! I can't wait until they start laying. I was lucky and hatched 5 out of 6...
Hi,
It's Sara in Sac :-)
I can't believe its up again, this was a couple months back when I emailed Old Orchard. I'm wondering what peoples hatch results have been.
