    The reality is goats will eat till they are ready to explode and yes they will eat off the ground, under the ground, over the ground, etc... My pigs are pickier than the goats, especially when it comes to anything the goat deems yummy!

    I have learned to put flour out around the pen to identify predators (land ones). If you look at the newer Storey's Guide to Chickens, there is also a chart that shows what typical predators do to the birds. It is a good why to identify problem predators. We have learned a variety of tricks...

    Where we live the goats drew in ALL kinds of predators, especially the coyotes. Needless to say we lost all our goats and gave up on the goat thing. (This was with LGD's) Bad experience for us.
