Zgoatlady,
Thank you! I was hoping to hear a response like yours. I hope I have equal luck mixing non vaccinated birds with the vaccinated ones, because that's what I was planning to do. I haven't heard any horror stories on this yet, so for now I'm going with that. Thanks again!
tammyfarms, Glad I ran into you here! I'm not here often, but they say timing is everything. Bye Tammy
Carolyn, I was sort of following the conversation about vaccine, but didn't realize Marec's was being discussed. Thanks for the info. Some folks say the vaccinated chicken is not a carrier...
Hi guys,
I have a question. I have 3 hatchery birds which were vaccinated for Mareks. I just hatched 4 eggs and these little guys are in the brooder. I did not intend to vaccinate them, but am now wondering if the vaccinated ones can be carriers of Mareks. If you've already addressed this...
CR, I didn't intend to demean any of the local breeders. I just meant that it's been my experience, looking for Brahma chicks, that the two closest breeders are in CA. I only intended to help.
Go to the "breeds, genetics, and showing" forum, and look for a thread on the particular breed you're looking for, and post your question there. I'm not sure, but it looks to me like WA. is short on breeders. Good luck!
Hey, it's not far fetched at all!!! My brother did that when he was well into his 40's. He quit a draftsman job and moved to Tonasket to farm it worked out great for him. He always says you never catch him living on the west side again. So good luck to you. I'm praying like crazy!
It makes no sense most of the time. My mom had several strokes, and although hard to watch her decline mentally, it was good to have a reason why she wasn't the same. I think if the truth be known, most of us carry around a lot of pain, or at least hurt feelings. I know I sure do. And Winter...
I'm sorry for your pain, I've been there. I urge you to not wait until Wed. If he's suffering, find a vet. It's a small price to pay for peace of mind, knowing you stopped his pain. I really do ache for you. Best of luck.
Vicki
I've never been to a chicken show. Is the show at the fairgrounds? Is that all they do is show their birds, or do they also have informative booths? Do they sell chicks? Can you get me more info?
I'm only a couple hrs. from Monroe and would love to go.
Thanks, Vicki
