Honestly I don't know. I don't vaccinate so I really cannot answer. I would THINK that if you have a carrier there is an increased chance he could catch it.....but no idea how it would affect him or if he might be able to fight it off.

My understanding is it can. Not necessarily CREATE a carrier but allow a sick bird to not show symptoms while still shedding (and thereby sharing) the illness.

I do not vaccinate. My flock is small and for me the disease risk is low. I also do not want to risk a carrier in my flock.
