    When chickens lay eggs they often have the legs fade. In my opinion she looks much two small to be a Marans, and her being hatchery quality makes her back too high, but that is just something to think about.

    ok, I can see it now, just a spur. She is a barred rock because: single comb, unfeathered legs. The legs are yellow. Did you get her from a hatchery? Barred rocks are common from hatcheries, cuckoo Marans are not.

    1 and 2 are barred rocks, of hatchery quality. I am wondering what you mean by five toes. 3 is speckled Sussex. The rooster below is the same breed. The orange hen is a buff Orpington.
