That's a worry. I'm glad Red was found. Wishing him a speedy and uneventful recovery.

She has such meltingly beautiful eyes. Her little cravat is stunning too.

Scoring that trolley for free is excellent ! Sounds like you are having a good influence on C. She may be starting to see the difference it makes being an involved chickeneer rather than just chucking sandwiches at them and forgetting them. 👍

I expect I owe tax. Here is Alice's new hairdo. She has been moulting and hasn't managed to open up all her head feathers yet.

That looks pretty miserable Shad. I hope the rain has let up a bit where you are. We have had downpours for several weeks and the garden is starting to smell like mud flats when the tide is out. We ended up getting three, large, concrete stepping stones to bridge the wettest spot in the garden...

We have tried to organise something but flood waters keep cutting the roads. ☹️ At the moment we are concentrating on trying to find a route home which looks like it will take us inland and away from ribh. :hit

We headed up the North Coast, up past Ribh. So far it has been very.....wet. Flood warnings all around us. I think we will try heading inland next...

I have a nice branch I salvaged years ago that I use as a breakfast bar for the girls. I pour a little free range scratch mix on it. It keeps the seeds off the ground and the girls can enjoy digging it out of the crevices. Whatever they miss will often sprout in the crevices and they get fresh...

Quick! Grab it before it goes to landfill! Maybe grab two!

Hubby and I are heading off for 10 days holiday tomorrow. Our kids (mid 20s) will be looking after the chooks, cats and dogs while we are gone. They have gone over everything with us and put a checklist up on the fridge. 😁 I think they will be fine.

I guess it's a "natural " death. Once she shakes it the neck probably snaps pretty quickly. 😕 I've seen my girls catch frogs. They don't last long.

Good on you Smudge! You have definitely earned your spurs. I hope he isn't badly injured @pennyJo1960 ?

It's a pity rats and mice are such a pest and can reach plague proportions. I find them very cute (one at a time). 😆 I like the sound of that trap. Looks like a quick death and you don't have to worry about poisons getting into the food chain, or in my case, the dogs.
