Let me add my congratulations to you for making it to such a venerable age, @Shadrach. I still have a couple of years on you, though! 😉 Man, those are some winds worth ducking for! 😱 Cheers!
Good morning, all. I like @Shadrach's insights into Sarge's possible motives for fighting the hawk, but the net result is the same, the hens (most of them) are safe. Go, Sarge! I've got hot water on for the un-coffee drinkers (Pero, tea, herbal tea, whatever). Coffee is too acidic for me.
It's...
I'm learning that hydrotherapy can work on a lot of things. I'm determined to learn more about it. Please let me know if it helps at all, and good luck! Chronic pain is no fun! :hugs
@Meg-in-MT have you tried hot and cold treatments? That can be very helpful for swelling, pain and inflammation. I've had a severe tendinitis in the two middle fingers of my left hand. I finally thought maybe the problem was not in the fingers but in the tendon going up my wrist and arm. I...
Thanks, @sourland . Is there a blood test for it? We've always been faithful to keep Gracie protected from fleas, ticks and heartworms but I know nothing is 100%. I seldom find ticks on her and when I do, they are always dead.
Over-did it is a possibility. She could have a little arthritis coming on, and yapping at boogymen till 2 am in the rain couldn't have done her any good. I haven't the heart to lock her up though, she cries.
ETA: I will if I have to though....
Something happened to Gracie last night (10-yo Sheltie), she came in favoring her left front. I checked her foot and leg but couldn't find anything, and this morning she seemed all "stove up" clear up to her shoulder. I had to carry her up the stairs from our bedroom in the basement but later in...
Morning, y'all. No time for hot drink this morning, I am off to town to pick up my chickies before the low-water bridges flood. Yes, it is raining here. Again. I will not sigh. Lol. Catch you all later!
Ah, found it. Autumn olive. DH has not heard of it being a ptoblem in our area but I will watch for it. It was Russian olive in NM, and yes it smelled wonderful in bloom! Gals, I guess we are the Cane Club. I have an ankle ... I like @aart's attitude, be glad we used-ta could and have our...
I am familiar with the multiflora rose, but what is this nasty tree y'all are talking about? Can somebody post a picture of it sometime? Or tell me the name agsin and I will Google it. I will definitely watch out for it!
My chicks are in transit and I hope to have them tomorrow afternoon. They...
Morning all. 33°, damp, dark. Sipping while supervising The Kid getting ready for school. My BA chicks are in transit, yay! Arrival today or tomorrow. Brooder ready in a spare bedroom. No BJG, sad to say. Can't wait to see Penny's quilts!
I have some good memories of the house I grew up in in a big city, some not so good memories. I won't go back except in memory. I want to keep it the way it was. Same with the little acreage where I raised my kids and first had chickens and horses. Don't look back. Is that weird?
