Can someone suggest a good hygrometer/thermostat? I was told the one from Walmart was a good one (under 10 bucks), I bought 3 and they all have different readings. I had only 7 chicks out of 36 hatch and I'm not happy at all...granted about a dz were not fertile and a few were quitters. I was...

Thank you! I think that is by the recycle place but not sure..I'll be going that way today so I can check it out! I'm not on FB, got sick of all the drama and deleted my account well over a year ago. I do miss the groups.

OMG how adorable!!! What is it called? I want!!! I'm not too thrilled with that place and I will not be buying any more birds there. I will say so far the 4 buff brahmas I bought are still okay. I think I will stick to Atwoods since I haven't had any probs minus the one duckling that died but...

Boys are tough when they're young but dang those little girls hit 11 and it's all over!! I think it's safe to say boys in the long run are so much easier! I'm not sure how me and my sisters are still alive!

The ducks and geese are loving it, the chickens even seem to love it (not sure where that saying madder than a wet hen comes from???). I prefer hot and sunny so I'm the cranky butt today since I'm stuck inside with cranky little boys.

I'm so happy you found a great man! My ex was an *** also, it took me awhile to figure out why my cats were disappearing. I have given up on men, I seem to be attracted to the idiots for some reason. I love my little critters and they keep me busy plus I adopted 2 boys who drive me crazy enough...

Congrats on your new and much better life! My ex would have woke up in bed with those chickens and then I would have started beating him with them when his mouth opened!

OMG!!! Do you think it would be ok to line the coop with borax or would chickens eat it? I know they have those boxes for baiting ants but I'm thinking with the chickens wanting to check out everything they would tear up boxes and get into the poison.

I had the same problem and no food in the coop here either. They were there about 3 weeks and then just left. I haven't seen any for a good week now and didn't do anything to make them leave, maybe the girls ate them???

After 2 days I have 3 little ones! The tiny one in back was hatched yesterday, I didn't think the poor baby was going to make it but he's doing great! I still have one egg left but I didn't see any movement last night when candled. I will check again tonight since I was so tired I couldn't...

If you find females see if they want to trade a sitter for one who would rather be in the pool with a male. LOL

Look on Craigslist, I think I saw someone on there. I know there's people who sell the empty eggs and maybe they will have some fertile ones. I live in Slaughterville and have some since my stupid geese refuse to stay on them I could help you out! However when I put mine in the incubator half...
