Hi everyone! Had one of the pekins in the incubator hatch yesterday. I was hoping more would hatch overnight for me so he wouldn't be alone but unfortunately he's still alone. He had a little bit of membrane get stuck to the down on his wing so I had to help him out of the shell.

Very rainy here too. 😩 I've been trying to finish planting my garden but last couple days have been to wet. There was a brief interlude this morning so I planted some strawberries and a basil plant, but that's it.

As I suspected, the second egg was dead as well. ☹️

Hello everyone. So far no more goslings. Just the one has hatched. I candled her last two eggs and one was dead and the other one it doesn't look promising but I still gave it back to her. We'll see what happens.

Oh yeah, it was very noisy but super sweet to watch. I hatched a couple of goslings from this same goose last year and kept one of them. She was the one who was the most concerned and protective of the nest besides the broody. I told my daughter, "aw, look, she's protecting her half sibling!"

Mixed. The mom is a pilgrim and the dad is a Toulouse. When I got close to the goose house last night all the geese rushed the nest to protect it from me. 🤭
