Yes I remember the panic when they were little whenever a magpie would come in the garden. We live in a built up area with gardens and fences on every side of us, I guess I was just naive and complacent. They have a small pen and coop but they outgrew it so we let them roam the garden in the day...
They really do, boris was the boss of my little group, he protected the other 2 from my kids and would chase our dog around the garden pecking her tail, he was always first in line to come for treats, really comical :) I'm upset but he had a really good life and went out a hero x
Thank you, we have a female dog :( I've been told to collect her waste and spread it round the back fence where the fox most likely comes from, but I'm sure my partner and 3 boys will be happy to pee around the garden 😂
We made it through the first night after the attack, my dog was very interested by the old coop so I presume it came back but the birds were moved :) they will only explore the garden now if me or the dog go with them otherwise they sit knocking at the back door. I feel so bad for them x
I've managed to talk my partner into letting the fox live, were going to try and secure the coop and scare it away. If it keeps coming back I'll look into this.
I love owls, I'd want to keep it as a new pet :)
Oh wow, have you got a camera set up by the pen?
Ah, were not allowed gun here, I'm definitely going to get the electric fence thing and just try and secure their pen from top to bottom.
I'm sorry about your bird, boris was my favourite and it's like my dog died x
I'm going to try the electric fencing even if my partner gets his way with this fox, I only have a little back garden, they roam free during the day and have a shed sort of thing at bedtime. Our dog runs round the garden with them so not too worried about day time but they need a safe space to...
Thank you, I really dont like the thought of killing any animal, and I'm not sure it's even allowed in the uk. If we scared it off would it still come back? I'm definitely going to look into the electric fencing, that's a really good idea.
I'm so upset, I've had these ducks since they were...
Thank you, our local pet vet has agreed to see betty, they don't really do ducks but hes happy to check her wounds and give antibiotics.
They've sat at the back door all day, I keep seeing a head pop in to check I'm still close :( my partner wants to catch and kill the fox but it's not an...
I went to let my ducks out of their night house this morning, absolutely gutted to find my main man had lost his head, my girl has a few marks on her and my other boy was unhurt. We're guessing a fox dug under the slabs, maybe went for betty and boris tried to save her?
I'm so upset, they are...
