They just call them smoke phase. Possible a wild mutation but more probable a domestic.

A byc member gets eggs from me and has used one of these for turkeys with great success. I have a couple incuviews but I mainly use for chickens. When I had one turkey hen, I did hatch a dz. Now I let the turkeys hatch. They all go broody anyway.

Yes One chick is hard to raise by itself. But there can be issues later because of the imprinting
