Correct. Those were features added by the addon that was causing the problems with the article alerts not going away, so we removed that addon... which also removed the functionality that you are mentioning.

Another update. The way the alerts are currently working is the default behavior of our community software. A given alert is marked as read when you a) view the actual piece of content by clicking on the alert and going to the actual piece of content... OR by clicking the little DOT on the...

We're not sure yet, but we're working through a few details.

An update: We disabled an addon (that improves the alerts) that seems to have not been playing nice with our addon that creates our Articles system. Now we just have to: Determine if the "alerts not clearing" issue is resolved Find what, if anything else is "broken" or not working correctly...

I've made a few changes to test and see if it fixes the problem. Please clear your cache and see if you can duplicate the issue now.

Let's keep working towards isolating when it is/isn't happening. So far, the only consistency is: It's only happening with certain Article alerts? No other alerts? Any consistency with browser, profile settings, etc?
