Lol too funny, yet not, about the eggs. My bf about had a heart attack when we first got chickens and learned how long it would be before they started laying. Now, he won’t let me sell anything that might possibly lay an egg lol. If you count what is living in our basement, I’m pretty close to...

I think the Pav is standing next to an Icelandic, which aren’t huge either. The Pav’s eggs are pretty small.

The Spitz are freaks. :gig I ended up with 3 golden cockerels and a silver pullet. Just gave away 2 of the boys. The pullet is the worst for being flighty. The boys approached for treats, and I can usually grab them. The girl,:he, it’s ring around the Rosie over and over to catch her. The rest...

Pavs are small. I had one hatch from Foxfire that looks similar. I also have Isbar, Marans, CCL, and Spitz from them. I have Isbar (and Barnevelder )from a different breeder as well.

These hatched on day 56. I have a very short attention span, unless hyperfocusing :gig, so it felt like an eternity!

One of the 2 Jubilee English Orpingtons pipped. Nothing on the 2nd one yet. Emu egg B hatched overnight. It is doing great. D is getting a safety hole this morning. A, I have no expectations of anything from that one.

Little tiny bumble bee is still alive this morning. It is eating and drinking. It’s a fast little booger. How anyone manages not to drop or smoosh these things, I’ll never know lol. In “bigger” news... Day 54 with the emu eggs and.... we have a whistle! Egg B is whistling. B, C, and D are all...

I rescued it from the incubator! Although it was probably safer there lol. It is super cute! But at the size of a bumble bee, I’m constantly worried about smooshing it. It likes to jump into my hand, and even snuggle. I’m having trouble finding a happy spot heat-wise for it.

ugh, I’m so sorry, that must’ve been terrible. The waterer was the regular, plastic chick kind with plastic bottle. I’ve decided that, except for cleaning and dumping LOL, I like these waterers; Chick waterers I’ll check with him to see if he took it out. I told him to, and gave instructions...

From what I remember... they basically raised the height with styrofoam. A platform of sorts for the lid. Either taped it to the lid or base, I don’t remember, but it didn’t look rickety. Remember emu eggs are incubated at a lower temp than chickens, and they need lots of good air circulation...

LOL don’t curse me! My bf left it in the incubator overnight because he’s afraid of killing it. I guess that is my job when I get up there today. Ugh. Hopefully it won’t drown. I had my first drowning a couple weeks ago. The chick was weak and likely on its way out anyway, but overnight it ended...

@ShannonsChimkens Oh no! I’m so sorry, if that is the case. How frustrating. My heart hurts for you! The time, energy, and attachment that goes into this is just overwhelming. 💔 😢 Just in case there are any developing, you might drill a safety hole after day 52. Last time I did that the...
